Now Hiring:  Retail Showroom Manager

Penn Stone Outdoor Living is accepting applications for a Retail Showroom Manager. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of store operations, will train, schedule and supervise retail staff, will plan and execute special events, will promote a positive work environment with an emphasis on professionalism and respect, and will maintain the highest standards of customer service to build the Penn Stone brand and increase sales.


Responsibilities and Duties

Sales

  • Exemplify a sales culture and guide staff to welcome all customers and build relationships
  • Become well-versed in all outdoor living product lines, the advantages they offer to our clients and ways to customize our collections to customers’ lifestyle needs
  • Develop a working knowledge of all masonry and hardscaping product lines
  • Assist retail customers by guiding them through a design process to create a beautiful and functional outdoor living space
  • Schedule and chair regular sales meetings with staff
  • Operations


Manage all store operations

  • Develop store staff as an effective high functioning team with specific and intersecting responsibilities
  • Document and train staff in procedures to facilitate smooth daily operations
  • Schedule store staff
  • Work with other members of the Penn Stone team to manage tasks, incoming and outgoing deliveries, customer service and other tasks
  • Maintain an attractively merchandised, clean, and well organized retail store and patio space
  • Ensure that sales transactions are accurately entered and maintained
  • Ensure that vendor information is kept up to date and easily accessible for all staff
  • Maintain and update the Store Procedures Manual as needed

Additional Activities

  • Plan and oversee all Special Events
  • Coordinate with the Merchandising and Sales Director regarding sales activity, store operations, staffing, vendor updates and upcoming events
  • Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications:

  • Professional management style that engages employees, honoring and valuing different working styles and skill sets
  • Communicates openly, respectfully, and clearly
  • Embraces the concept of creating beautiful outdoor living spaces
  • Comfortable leading meetings and speaking publicly
  • Educated (formally or informally) in design principles with a natural aptitude for the Penn Stone aesthetic
  • Proficient with technology and software
  • Organized with a focus on details, procedures and follow through
  • Willingness to learn all facets of our many products and product lines
  • Professional in appearance and presentation
  • 3-5 years retail management experience
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Bending, stretching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
